Hardware

• Computers
• A sophisticated person should have three computers. One is a primary laptop, this is the most general purpose. One is a more mobile device with a touchscreen (such as an iPad). This is used for reading, brainstorming, drawing, etc. The third is a beefy machine with a fat GPU. This is used for running long jobs, machine learning, playing video games, VR, etc. Anything that requires a bunch of compute.
